Trailer Type
Car hauler trailers are designed specifically to move vehicles — lowered decks, long ramps, tie-down points positioned for wheels, and the length and capacity for everything from a single compact car to a pair of race cars. Open and enclosed options give you the choice between economy and full weather protection.

Open car haulers are lighter, cheaper and easier to load, with a tilt-bed or beavertail deck and long ramps. Enclosed car haulers protect the vehicle from weather and road debris and double as secure storage, but weigh more and cost significantly more. Choose open for track-day and dealer transport, enclosed for show cars, classics and long-distance moves.
A single car needs at least 16' of deck; two cars need 22–24'. Match the trailer's GVWR to the combined weight of the vehicles plus a margin. A 7,000 lb GVWR handles a small car; 10,000–14,000 lb covers most passenger cars and trucks; enclosed stackers for two cars often run 14,000+ lb GVWR.
Low cars need a low load angle to avoid scraping the front lip. Beavertail decks with dove-tail ramps, or full tilt-bed trailers, give the shallowest angle. Measure your car's ground clearance and the trailer's load angle before buying — a steep angle can damage low-front vehicles.
